Aztec Stone Serpent, Mexico City area, ca 1350 AD

A large and distinguished Pre Columbian Aztec stone serpent.  The lolling forked tongue extends from the mouth which is carved with prominent fangs.  Sculpted from a fine grained limestone, the coiled snake shows strong deposits and weathering.  Large and Heavy.  6 1/2" height x 8" width.
