Hopewell Falcon Effigy Pipe, circa 400 AD, Kentucky / Tennessee
A carved pipe that was once the head of a full bodied Hopewell effigy pipe. The head is expertly carved and engraved with decorative motifs. This pipe was salavaged in antiquity and has a high polish over the break area indicating it continued to be used in it's current form.
