Prehistoric Eskimo Ivory Female Figure, St. Lawerence Island area, Alaska, ca 1200-1600 AD
A beautiful female figure carved of fossilized ivory. The hands drawn into the chest with narrow torso and engraved pelvic triangle. The marine ivory showing dark patina with minor areas of defoliation from age. This type of figure was used as a shaman's amulet or powerful talisman, 2 1/2" height.
